Currently the focus is on exporting streams of grade a clean sawdust from U.S. softwood mills from gymnosperm trees. Softwood trees in the U.S. lack vessels or pores and include pines, spruce, fir, larches, and is the source of 70% of the worlds annual production of lumber with traditional centers of production being mainly in the U.S. Most species of softwood are more resistant to insects and parasites and can be found in animal bedding, lawn decoration and yes, food. Softwoods are generally used for pulp and paper because they maintain a constant density and cleanness. Our daily goal is to stage fiber at our sawmill teams facilities, making sure if were we get what we ask for so our customers don’t have to worry. It’s so easy to do the job right the first time and that’s our goal.
